We're happy to tell you that Sherpa has a new furever home. Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Sherpa is a lovely 9 year old - a calm & friendly gal currently a foster home in Grand Haven, Michigan. Her background is that she was brought into a shelter with a senior beagle after her owner passed away. The shelter had few details other than a Good Samaritan brought the two into the facility. The beagle was adopted and Sherpa was struggling with the noise and commotion in the shelter so the shelter connected with GLWR and of course we couldn’t say no to this Lady. She had a few masses removed that were benign and she’s recovered beautifully and is ready for her new home. Sherpa is very sweet & we believe she’d be be good with kids, people and other dogs. Cats are an unknown.
She’s smaller in size at about 50lbs and is lower energy, so she likely won’t require extensive daily exercise! She loves to snuggle under a blanket and watch her favourite detective-based tv shows. Sherpa would be great company for someone who needs a lovie. Apply today to bring this sweetheart home.
Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue
We are a volunteer run, nonprofit group whose primary mission is to help with the rescue and placement of Weimaraners in the Great Lakes region – including MI, OH, IL, IN and WI.
GLWR is a foster based rescue organization and does not have a traditional physical kennel facility like many humane societies or animal shelters. Our dogs are typically housed in family homes and cared for by their foster families until we find a forever home for them. Therefore, our process to meet dogs and to adopt may be different than a normal animal control facility, humane society or animal shelter. We work hard to match each dog with their perfect forever home.
