Jake is a handsome, spunky, neutered 1 year old male Weimaraner currently being fostered in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Jake requires an owner with Weim experience who is committed to dedicated and consistant training and ensuring he gets daily, extensive exercise. Jake's foster family is working on leash manners - he knows basic commands. Jake loves to play with his foster siblings and cuddle with a soft blanket. Jake is 52 pounds of pure joy and love, but without firm boundaries and consistant training, he is a handful. For this reason - his new family will have to be Weim experienced willing to set firm boundaries. Jake travels well and loves everyone he meets. He has an easy going personality, desires to please and loves to cuddle. Jake is ready to be adopted to the right family or person who is very active and can provide the environment needed to become a well-behaved and confident dog.

We are a volunteer run, nonprofit group whose primary mission is to help with the rescue and placement of Weimaraners in the Great Lakes region – including MI, OH, IL, IN and WI.

GLWR is a foster based rescue organization and does not have a traditional physical kennel facility like many humane societies or animal shelters. Our dogs are typically housed in family homes and cared for by their foster families until we find a forever home for them. Therefore, our process to meet dogs and to adopt may be different than a normal animal control facility, humane society or animal shelter. We work hard to match each dog with their perfect forever home.
