4 year old silver boy - currently calling Grand Rapids, Michigan home. Newton's ideal setting would be a quiet, rural home without kids. Newton would be fine as a single dog or he could have a fur brother or sister. Newton's owner must be a previous Weim owner and be committed to further professional training so he can be comfortable and confident in public settings - at the moment Newton is not and growls and lunges on walks without preemptive redirection. Newton is vocal about walks and dining time. He rules the roost at his foster house and lets everyone know what he wants - when he wants it! We think his former owner may have been a drill sargeant. Newton struggles in social situations and meeting new people; especially children as he does not have the confidence to handle their unpredictability. Newton free roams when home alone. He will counter and trash can surf, so we make sure things are put away in order to set him up for success. Walks are just about Newtons favorite thing in the world. Newton is eager to please and food motivated. He would benefit from ongoing training with an owner who is committed to seeing this boy thrive. His foster family has seen marked improvement in the two months they've had Newton.
