Gatsby is 2 years old and just shy of 80 pounds. Gatsby is a timid boy who would do well in a home as an only dog and with children 16 and up. Gatsby was one of 27 Weimaraners that GLWR took in from a seizure case in northern Michigan in November. All of these dogs have been in foster care for about 2 months. They are learning everyday - food bowls, leashes, toys and beds are all new experiences. Gatsby had a huge tumor the size of a small melon removed from his shoulder in late November. He has recovered beautifully. Rumor has it that he's been bragging and showing off his scar in the local dog park! Gatsby's Foster Mom Mary says "Gatsby loves walks and going getting pets when he goes to our local brew pubs. We didn't order him his own growler of craft beer but he did have a sip of my husband's pint! Gatsby enjoys having warm soft things to wear and play with; he really enjoys wearing a sweater. Gatsby's favorite toy to play with his his Bark Broccoli. Gatsby does not chew except for paper. He loved shredding his Christmas present paper, and then we discovered he shredded other papers that we left out by mistake. It’s all gray to him. Gatsby likes to go hiking on trails, but can be fearful of other dogs. He is treat motivated and I believe training will give him some confidence. Gatsby loves sleeping in a human bed. He crates when he is home alone, but would prefer to free roam." Gatsby is healthy and ready to find his forever home.
