Sia is a Blue/Black, 2 year old female Weimaraner/Great Dane mix (or a very large weim or a very small dane) we do not have the resources for genetic testing for conclusive results. Sia is very energetic, active and friendly, but needs manners and training. She was neglected and possibly abused (kicked when jumping etc.), so she needs time and patience to reveal her best self. She is sweet but needs to learn people can be kind and loving. She does not like the rain after being left outside for several weeks tied to a propane tank. She will need to be an indoor dog. Sia is being fostered in West Olive, MI.

We are a volunteer run, nonprofit group whose primary mission is to help with the rescue and placement of Weimaraners in the Great Lakes region – including MI, OH, IL, IN and WI.

GLWR is a foster based rescue organization and does not have a traditional physical kennel facility like many humane societies or animal shelters. Our dogs are typically housed in family homes and cared for by their foster families until we find a forever home for them. Therefore, our process to meet dogs and to adopt may be different than a normal animal control facility, humane society or animal shelter. We work hard to match each dog with their perfect forever home.
