Ollie is a 6-year-old long-haired silver Weimaraner with a big heart, a playful spirit, and a love for both adventure and snuggles. He’s ready to find a home that can keep up with his energy and appreciate all his lovable quirks!
Ollie absolutely loves to run and play—both physically and mentally—so he’ll thrive with an active person or family who can give him plenty of enrichment and exercise. One of his sweetest habits is self-soothing with his beloved purple blanket (which will come with him!), and he’s always happy to soak up ear scritches or settle in with a good chew.
This handsome guy is very food-motivated (he especially loves Cheez-Its!), which makes him a quick learner and fun to train. He already knows basic commands like sit, down, and shake, and his recall is pretty reliable—though sometimes he needs a second call while he finishes whatever he’s investigating!
Ollie is friendly with people (he’s especially fond of men) and gets along well with other dogs and even cats. He hasn’t shown any resource guarding and will happily trade “treasures” like plastic, books, or snacks he sneaks for a tasty treat. He’s also a total cuddle bug who loves to snuggle up after playtime.
Ollie does have some anxiety and is currently on medication to help him feel his best. He can be vocal while traveling but settles well in a kennel in the car. He’s a strong boy and will need a harness for walks and a confident handler. Grooming—especially nail trims and brushing the feathers on his back legs—can be stressful for him, so he’ll need a patient home willing to continue working with him (a muzzle may be needed for nail trims).
Ollie’s ideal home:
- Active and able to provide plenty of physical and mental exercise
- Committed to continuing his training (he’s smart and eager!)
- Understanding of his anxiety and supportive of his needs
- Ready for a loving, goofy, and affectionate companion
If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving dog who will keep you active and then curl up for cuddles, Ollie might just be your perfect match!
